Dear Visitor,

WELCOME to the official website of the Canadian Hair Loss Foundation (CHLF). We appreciate you visiting our site and hope that you find the information in the site helpful.

There are many different ways that people connect with the CHLF - and whatever your reason - we thank you for visiting. Perhaps you, or someone you know,  has developed one of the many types of hair loss.  Perhaps you're a physician who treats hair loss, or perhaps a researcher with a focus in hair biology.  Welcome.

If you or someone you know has recently developed hair loss, you may have more questions than answers at this point. What's the cause? What do people with hair loss normally do? What treatment are available? What kind of doctor should I see? Why is there such a long wait for appointments?  If you've had hair loss for a while now, you may have a whole new set of questions. How long do I need to be on my medications? Are there any new medications I can try if current one's aren't helping?  What research is being done about my condition?

And while you go about your searching for information about your hair loss, you are polarized by two strong thoughts about your hair loss or your loved one's hair loss: the first being that it's 'only hair' and there are so many other worse things one could have the second being that hair is fundamentally so important to who you are, and how you feel about yourself - right now it seems few things could be more important to you than regaining your hair.

The CHLF offers visitors to our website frequent updates and breaking news in all areas of hair loss. We're proud to cover every type of hair loss known - be that genetic hair loss, alopecia areata, scarring alopecia, hair shedding disorders or  autoimmune. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instragram. Connect with us, and share our excitement as new discoveries and better treatments are announced. And finally - support us.

Thank you for visiting,
